Lowcountry goodness

The best thing about cold weather: oyster roasts. Steam curls off heaping piles of fresh, roasted oyster on a plywood table. Everyone rolls their sleeves up, digs in with an oyster knife and the juice drips down your chin. Occasionally, you pry open a shell, with great effort, to find pluff mud. You gorge until you feel the sea ebbing in your belly.

This weekend JMcC took me to his favorite event of the year, the Bluffton Oyster Roast.  We are on the right side, back, with our buddies.

Here I am with the Christmas oyster knife he gave me in preparation of this momentous occasion.
