In the ghetto or just a city?

Our car was broken into a few weeks ago. The window was smashed to smithereens. Of course what they stole was worth $200, just below the $250 deductible. Then over the course of 2 months we’ve heard gun shots on multiple occasions. Then today we get a notice from our apartment complex that there was an attempted armed robbery in the parking lot at 6:30. That’s after work. People are out then. This recent wave of crime has me pondering our current location. Do I get the fellow up to walk me to my car every morning? What the hell? I hate when my liberties are stifled.

New Year, here I come!

I generally hate the year-end round ups. I do, however, embrace the promise of New Year’s resolutions. Here are mine:

  1. Rock my first semester of grad school. Get at least a few more scholarships.
  2. Eat healthier (even with my man’s anti-veggie stance).
  3. Exercise at least 4 times per week.
  4. Wash my face more frequently.
  5. Keep the house tidier during the work week.
  6. Find a summer job to rake in the moolah.

Christmas time

I really enjoy being able to see my bestie when I go visit my boyfriend’s parents. It’s such a wonderful blessing of proximity.

I also got to see a good friend who has been working in Asia for ages.

I start grad school shortly after my 28th birthday. Eek!
